Is Lecture Capture Worth Doing? Mediasite Reports Say “Yes!”

2009 November 13

I’ve talked about the importance of reporting before, but I’m betting you’ll find Joel Goble’s view on how reporting helped prove the value of what he was doing with Mediasite pretty interesting.

I ran into Goble at EDUCAUSE 09 where we were both exhibiting and capturing the keynote speakers. Goble used Mediasite’s built in reports to show the value of what he was doing not only to his boss, but also to the professors who learned what many of you already know – students love and want their Mediasite!

Enjoy this brief interview with Joel Goble from Touro University in Nevada.

While I’m at it, you might be interested to view a little of this week’s webinar, Fortify Your Institutional H1N1 Plan with Lecture Capture: Mediasite at Washington State University. Specifically, if you jump to this point in the presentation, you’ll see Saleh Elgiadi, Director of Information Technology Services, Academic and Research Technologies at Washington State University, discussing how he could see the value of capturing their content by reviewing Mediasite’s reports. (Note that their November numbers were lower because the month wasn’t finished yet.)

Is capturing your organization’s rich media content worth it? Absolutely. And Mediasite reporting will help you prove it.
