What do Cher, Elvis, Mediasite and weight loss have in common? Vegas.

Mediasite staff make new friends, including Elvis and Cher, at EduComm and InfoComm 2010 in Las Vegas
This week Sonic Foundry is en force in Vegas for EduComm June 7-9 and InfoComm June 9-11.
We’ve got tons going on (you can see some pics here, with more to come).
- Mediasite 5.4 and the new Mediasite ML Recorder. It’s slimmer and sleeker. Lucky souls who’ve had a sneak peak have used words like “sexy,” “sweet” and a smattering of “cute.”
- And 5.4 includes a completely redesigned Recorder interface, integrated closed captioning, multicast support for Silverlight and other playback extras like a new widescreen video-only encoding profile and Firefox 3.6 support.
EduComm at the Mirage
- We’re the titanium sponsor and capturing five conference tracks and live streaming featured sessions to EduComm Virtual (see the conference tweets: #educomm).
- And of course we’re talking to new friends and old in the exhibit hall.
- Yesterday, Mediasite customer Rob Rasberry from Drexel University spoke on “Lecture Capture Out of the Box”.
- Sonic Foundry VP Sean Brown presents “The Past, Present and Future of Academic Webcasting” today at 2:30 pm.
- We announced the University of Toledo is using Mediasite to help graduates find jobs and New York Law School standardized on Mediasite for lecture capture and rich media hosting
- Last but not least, we’re giving away a Flip MinoHD at 3:30 p.m. at our booth 34-37 (just drop your business card before then, and stick around – you must be present to win).
InfoComm at the Las Vegas Convention Center
- You can see our 2-minute overview here, via Mediasite of course.

Sonic Foundry kicks off InfoComm 2010 with a press conference announcing the new ML Recorder and Mediasite 5.4
- We kicked off with a press conference today at our InfoComm booth N627, guaranteed to show you how to lose some webcasting weight this summer
- We’re webcasting about a dozen training sessions for InfoComm OnDemand and the Twitter stream (if you are into that kind of thing) is starting to heat up: #infocomm
- Plus we’re holding our first manufacturer’s trainings; we’re a member of InfoComm International’s CTS Renewal Unit Program. Our two technical training workshops, “Setting Up, Configuring and Using the Mediasite Recorder” on June 9 and “Integrating Mediasite” on June 11, will help over 60 attendees maintain their Certified Technology Specialist certification.
- Plus tonight, Wednesday June 9 at 5:30 p.m. we’ll be meeting up for an informal gathering of Mediasite users in the Plaza Bar at the Hilton Las Vegas.
Seem like a heavy schedule? Yeah, it is. But lighten up. It’s Vegas.
