The first of our two September webinars features Sonic Foundry’s very own Tom Irons, presenting  “Future Proof Capture: Best Practices for Planning Your Server and Storage Strategy”on Tuesday, September 22 at 11am CT. It’s (always) free!  Just register here before we go live.

In the last 12 months, the number of Mediasite-equipped rooms, hours of operation and webcast viewership have exploded. Large and small universities, corporations and government agencies are capturing, distributing – and having to manage – more online presentation content than ever before, often beyond what they ever imagined.

But as demand for capture increases and IT and AV environments become increasingly complex, what are the options and best practices for deploying appliance-based webcasting platforms? And how do you ensure optimal integration and reliability?

Join us for a candid exploration of three highly successful, real-life Mediasite application, database, video and storage architecture scenarios that are in current production.

We’ll also compare key planning decisions as success variables in a case study analysis of these environments, including:

  • Size and manner of storage
  • Availability and concurrent viewership strategies
  • Network provisioning
  • Server hardware selection
  • and virtualization

Before joining us as Director of Systems Engineering, Tom was the manager for Smart Classroom and Emerging Technology at East Carolina University, responsible for over 100 classrooms. At ECU, he was among the principal architects of the Mediasite server support infrastructure which to this day remains one of the largest and most prolific classroom content capture infrastructures in the world. In his current role, Tom and his team are in touch with virtually every Mediasite installation around the globe.
