Using Technology in a Struggling Economy, plus the new Learning Space Repository

2009 August 11

A shout out for our always-energetic-Mediasite-customer Jim Jorstad from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He’s got a couple hot irons in the fire we wanted to make you aware of.

The first is his featured article in the latest issue of EDUCAUSE Quarterly, “Educational Technology in a Challenging Economy – An Inside View.” Jim highlights how they use rich media webcasts at UW-La Crosse including great photos and links to publicly-available content. Plus he outlines five ways educational institutions can cope with challenging economic conditions by being proactive in deploying technology.

Jim stopped by our Sonic Foundry EduComm booth back in June to tell us about this article and the second hot topic – a learning space repository. Watch the less than 2 min. interview below to catch up with Jim.

You can learn more about his initiative, The Learning Space Repository, over at Jim’s blog.

Finally, if you are a registered EduComm attendee, you can review his EduComm presentation, Lost in Space, on the EduComm website. If you didn’t attend EduComm, you can see the full conference catalog by joining the just launched EduComm Institute.

Enjoy!
